As a peer support group leader, the following attributes will be helpful to start and run a group: • Strong listening and communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality • Empathy for people impacted by health and disability challenges • Ability to locate resources and information for use by the group or its individual members • Reliability, time, energy and commitment necessary to leading the support group • Good organisational and meeting or event coordination skills • Personal or professional experience with neurological conditions or group facilitation skills
