Bushcare Volunteer
City of Parramatta BushcareAre you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference to your local community? Do you want to meet like minded people and make new friends whilst getting out into nature? Are you interested in learning about your local plants and animals?
Consider joining up as a volunteer with the City of Parramatta's Bushcare program!
Bushcare groups meet once a month for about 3 hours at sites across the LGA. A Bushcare group is made up of passionate volunteers like yourself plus a professional supervisor who acts as a mentor for the group, training everyone to work safely and with correct techniques. Bushcarers work to restore degraded bushland through the removal of weeds, protection and planting of native flora and monitoring of their efforts.
Some Bushcare groups meet on weekends, and some on weekdays. Attendance is not mandatory, and you can choose to join one Bushcare group or multiple! All tools and training are supplied.
Bushcare volunteers are also offered exclusive training and social opportunities such as night bushwalks, birdwatching days and biological survey training.
All are welcome, although children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult guardian.
Upon applying you will be sent a link to sign up to be a bushcare volunteer.
