Community Aged Care Volunteer

Roles include:

Social Programs support - assist our workers by engaging with customers while enjoying arts and crafts, games, cooking activities and social outings.

Phone Support - provide a friendly voice over the phone touching base and checking in with customers who may be feeling isolated and lonely.

In-Home Social Connections – be matched with customers in the community to engage with one-on-one visits in their homes.

Hospital and Respite Visiting - provide customers with much needed support and comfort while in hospital or when they are taking a break in respite.

Administration - provide administration and program support to our teams in an office-based setting.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Supporting customers with a range of social engagement activities, directly or indirectly to remain independent in the community.
  • Supporting a dedicated team of professionals in the ongoing support of older members of the community to continue to be active, independent and engaged in the community.

What do you need to bring?

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment in accordance with AnglicareSA’s values
  • Ability to work with empathy, compassion and in a non-judgemental and respectful manner
  • Relate well with people from a variety of different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • The ability to report to the line manager any areas of concern regarding the customers you are working with
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally to customers and staff
  • Willingness to provide assistance in a customer centred model, adhere to the Aged Care Quality Standards and organisation policy and procedures.
