Men's Group Volunteers - Queanbeyan - #202313

Warrigal
Logo for Warrigal

Warrigal is an award-winning, for-purpose community-owned organisation that provides a range of retirement living and aged care services in the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Queanbeyan, and Canberra regions. For over 50 years, we've been dedicated to creating inspiring, supportive, and connected communities for older people, and are proud to be innovative leaders of best practice.

As a Men's Group volunteer, you will be an essential part of enhancing the residents' experience. Supported by our staff, your role will include:

  • Facilitating discussions about hobbies, travel and reminiscing about work days.

  • 'Hands-on' activities tailored to the interests of the men.

  • Organising indoor activities such as table tennis, quoits, and card games.

A male volunteer's presence will add a valuable dimension to the Men's Group, as you bring your conversational skills, patience, and a good sense of humour to the table.

Men's Group sessions typically occur 2-3 times a week, aligned with our activity calendar, from 2:30pm to 4pm. You have the flexibility to choose the day(s) that suit your availability.

We encourage volunteers to commit to weekly visits, as this will build strong connections, and residents will look forward to your next visit.
