The position is voluntary, with varied hours week by week. Some out of hours commitment is necessary depending on operational requirements – most issues can be resolved remotely. Equipment failure (rare), data corruption (also rare) and user stuff ups all play a part in the demand cycle! In common with most businesses in 2023, MoW FC is entirely dependent on our IT systems functioning 24/7 to enable the service to fulfil it’s obligations to around 500 clients a day, and also the contractual requirements of both State and Federal funding bodies. A demonstrated working knowledge of the MS 365 suite of programs, MYOB, SQL and SSMS is an essential requirement for the position. Currently, the hardware estate consists of a full server (hosting 2 virtual servers), 14 desktop workstations and 6 laptops, plus 2 multi-function printers and 4 label printers across our two locations. Backups are stored hourly on a local NAS throughout the working day (8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday), then encrypted and transmitted at 6pm daily to secure off-site storage in Melbourne. External IT support is available through two contracted companies, one local and one in Brisbane, but the candidate will be responsible for most of the short notice, day to day issues. An organisation wide IT Policy is in place, and this position requires acceptance of same.
