The role of the Volunteer Bus Driver is vital in creating a sense of connection and community for our residents in Cherrybrook Gardens. You will be driving the RSL LifeCare 21-seater bus for the purpose of transporting the retirement village residents to a variety of locations (local shops, cafes, trips, etc.). You can commit either to regular or occasional driving depending on personal circumstances.

Volunteer tasks:

*Collect residents from the specified pick-up point and drive them to the specified venue at a prescribed time

*Ensure seat belts are fastened before driving

*Ensure that all road and parking rules are obeyed and that passengers alight in a safe area

You will need to wait for the residents to complete their shopping or other activities before driving them back to the village

Personal qualities:

*Light Rigid Driver Licence is required to drive the bus

*Show patience, kindness and empathy for all passengers

*Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds

*Be reliable and committed

*Have sound knowledge of road rules

*Be familiar with the geographic region in which they are driving
