The UNAA Young Professionals (YP) network involves and inspires young professionals throughout Australia in international affairs and the work of the United Nations around the world, through fundraising, awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns. The YP brings together a diverse mix of young professionals from business, law, government, the arts and philanthropy that are mainly between the ages of 25 to 40 years.

As our Social Media Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the UNAA YP Network's online presence and impact. You'll be at the forefront of promoting our events, advocating for critical issues, and driving projects that matter. If you're ready to utilise your creativity and social media savvy to champion causes promoted by the UNAAV YP Committee, then this is the role for you!

Accountabilities

  • Content Creator: Take charge and drive the development of our communication channels (blogs, newsletter) and social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. Stay up-to-date with global affairs and UN developments to create engaging and timely content.
  • Event Coverage: Collaborate with our Events team to ensure seamless social media coverage during YP events. Share the excitement and impact with our online community.
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with our Marketing and Communications Lead to develop and execute a strategic marketing, communication, and public relations plan. Keep our content calendar buzzing with fresh ideas, and bring forward the issues that matter most to our members.
  • Online Engagement: Seek out communication opportunities and projects that boost the UNAA YP's online presence and reputation. Be a driving force behind our mission.
  • Team Collaboration: Support our Advocacy team and Events team in creating and implementing captivating social media content that resonates with our members

Selection criteria

  • Content creation: Create compelling writing and storytelling content for all of our communication channels
  • Creativity: Show us your knack for creative content development.
  • Social Media Savvy: Demonstrate your knowledge and skills in social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Planning and Organisation: Prove your ability to plan, organize, and manage projects effectively.
  • Team Player: Show your dedication to teamwork and cooperation.
  • Adaptability: Embrace flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative: Don't wait; take the initiative to drive change and make an impact.
