Sports statisticians work closely with coaches and athletes to ensure that they have the information they need to make strategic decisions about their performance. A sports statistician typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include: • Use computer software to track statistical data or manually record data in a paper notebook • Research historical statistics and trends to project future performance of individuals or teams • Apply knowledge of probability and statistics in order to interpret results and identify possible errors • Prepare weekly or daily reports on player performance statistics • Track statistics such as goals scored, errors made, and other key performance indicators • Interview players and coaches to collect information about performance on the field or court

What you’ll bring to the team: • Passion for mathematics, statistics, or related field • Proficient in Excel • Familiarity with SQL databases • Familiarity with sports analytics software • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Attention to detail and accuracy
