Do you enjoy interacting with older members of our community? Do you have some skills or interests that would appeal to older people? HammondCare’s Social Club at is looking for volunteers that can bring along a Furry Friend. The Social Club offers clients who are frail aged and or living with dementia a chance to spend a day socialising outside their home.

As you're bringing your pet into a care environment with frail and elderly residents, we ask that your pet is calm, patient and gentle in nature , up-to-date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas and nails should be short and blunt. Freshly cuts nails can be sharp if not filed down. Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) is an Australian Government funded initiative established to promote links between elderly people and their local community. HammondCare is an approved provider of ACVVS.

HammondCare
