Visitor Information Centre, Gallery and Gift Shop Attendant

Warburton Advancement League

The Warburton Advancement League is pleased to share this opportunity to volunteer at the Warburton Waterwheel Visitor Information Centre, Handmade Gift Shop and Gallery. The Centre serves both visitors to the area and locals alike. It is managed by an overseeing volunteer Board and part-time Coordinator and run on a daily basis by volunteers. The Centre is a not-for-profit business with the mission to be a hub for great experiences in the Upper Yarra area.

Visitors come to the centre for information about things to do in the area and often to get our suggestions about cafes and other offerings. Many come looking for locally made items and also enjoy our gallery. Locals benefit by displaying their business brochures and event announcements, local artisans sell their wares in our handmade gift shop, and we feature only local artists in our gallery. Depending on the day, we have anywhere from 20 to 300 people come through the centre (higher numbers on public holiday weekends).

Volunteers always work in teams of two and will never be asked to work alone. We want our team members to feel safe and supported. We ensure that the team pairs always include at least one experienced volunteer who is confident and comfortable with the small amount of technology use required. So don’t worry, you won’t be left to figure it all out by yourself.

We are currently in urgent need of volunteers on the weekends and some weekday shifts as well as fill-in support when others take leave. We are a flexible and fun organisation to work with and would love to speak with you further about joining the team.
