Experience Volunteering in a safe and supported environment

Volunteer South West provides opportunities to practice a volunteer role whilst being supported ‘on the job’ by our dedicated staff.

We will support you in small groups of five people with:

• Information about volunteering and how you can contribute • Filling out forms and all compliance paperwork • Providing support and supervision to find the right position for you • Supporting you through the induction process and meeting the team • Being available while you practice the volunteer role

During those sessions you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in a safe and welcoming environment. You will receive support from Volunteer South West and your workplace mentor at the organisation.

Location: We will aim to match you to a position that is close to where you live or can be reached by public transport according to your needs.

Duration: 3 hour sessions, one day a week for four weeks with the option of ongoing volunteering

Age Range: 16+

Training: Orientation and on-the-job training will be provided

Suitable for: Everyone is welcome but most suitable for those who would like to be supported by our friendly staff as you trial volunteering.
