Logo for Motor Neurone Disease Association Of Queensland Inc.

About the event:

The event is an annual fundraising walk in support of people with Motor Neurone Disease. In 2023, the Sunshine Coast event will take place on Sunday 6 August, 9am-12pm.

Motor Neurone Disease is a neurodegenerative disease with 2 Australians being diagnosed each day! Unfortunately, MND is a life-limiting disease with an average life expectancy of 2-3 years from diagnoses with 2 Australians passing away each day. This walk aims to increase awareness of MND and raise vital funds for services and research for a cure.

This is an inclusive event with participants ranging from solo individuals, families with children, groups of friends and those who have been affected by MND. Some participants may be in wheelchairs.

The course is either a 2km or 4km return walk starting at Mooloolaba Rotary Park, with a fundraising raffle, merchandise, BBQ, beverages and awards throughout event.

We're looking for:

  • Enthusiastic, happy and confident communicators to assist with marshalling at our fundraising Walk.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and ability to help set up and pack up equipment such as marquees, flags and banners, folding tables and chairs etc.
  • Volunteers for registrations and t-shirt collections
  • Volunteers to help sell our fundraising merchandise and raffle tickets
  • A volunteer or two to help with photography
  • A volunteer or two that hold a current first-aid certificate.

You will receive:
