What do you need to become a visitor?

Empathy, kindness, ability to chat about anything and willing to listen.
Maturity 18+
National Police Clearance (COTA SA can assist you to obtain this if you don’t have one.)

Successful completion of the COTA SA Community Visitors Scheme volunteer orientation.

Time required

At least one hour weekly or fortnightly

As per the COTA SA volunteer policy, program guidelines and the related handbooks.

Requirements

National Police Certificate

Please note: * As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Insurance). * Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
