Museum Ambassador

Tweed Regional Museum

Tweed Regional Museum shares the stories of our community, we create connections, inspire wonder and provide unique experiences in unexpected places.

As a Museum Ambassador you will:

  • Welcome visitors to the Museum and be the first point of contact during their visit.

  • Actively promote the Museum to our visitors and community .

  • Offer courteous, helpful and informed responses to visitor enquiries, calling on staff assistance when required.

  • Keep simple records of visitor numbers and other information as needed.

  • Assist staff with opening and closing the Museum.

  • Process retail sales of Museum shop items using our point-of-sale system (training provided).

  • Assist staff to maintain visitor safety and display security.

In addition to the front-of-house role, interested Museum Ambassadors will have the opportunity to assist on occasional special events, including school and group visits to our Tweed Heads Learning Site. Ambassadors can also assist with our mobile ‘Museum on Wheels’ program.

The Museum is a Tweed Shire Council community facility. As a Museum Ambassador you will observe Council-wide and Museum specific protocols for interacting with members of the public.

Museum Ambassadors interested in assisting with our public programs for children will be required to complete a working with children check.

You will need to have some experience with using computers to access the internet and read documents.

You will also be able to commit to at least two Museum Ambassador shifts each month. Shifts are three hours duration.
