Wesley Mission Queensland's In-Home Community Visitor program aims to enrich the quality of life of isolated older people living in their homes who may be socially isolated or lonely for social or cultural reasons or due to disability.

We are looking for friendly people who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our community’s seniors by regularly visiting and being a social friend to individuals living in their own homes in Tingalpa. In this particular role, we have a lovely lady who would like someone to join her for friendly chats and social activities such as going to markets, bowling, going on walks and catching up for a coffee.

In the role of Community Visitor, you will assist in ensuring older people in their homes remain actively engaged and inspired daily. Quality time shared can include chatting, playing cards or board games, working on a hobby together, or discussing the local news. You might take a walk, grab a coffee, visit bingo, or do some gardening together.

Community Visitors are not involved in providing clinical or personal care to the people they visit.

Wesley Mission Queensland is a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer, where you will meet many wonderful people and learn new skills that may assist you personally and professionally. There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:
