The Volunteer Call Centre Support Role

You will work with other volunteers and conference members booking appointments for people to be visited by our home support teams. This volunteer role and work is vital to helping people in the local community and will include our friendly team providing you all the training you need to be able to make a differece to people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take calls and book clients in for Home Visits by Support team.

  • Maintain records in accordance with policies and procedures of the St Vincent de Paul Society.

  • Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the people we assist.

We need volunteers with the following abilities/attributes:

  • A willingness to be trained.

  • Great phone manner

  • Able to enter client details into our computer booking system (CAMS)

  • Ability to operate within a compassionate and non-judgmental framework.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and highly organised.

  • Ability to volunteer as part of a team and contribute to the working environment in a positive and supportive manner.

  • Intermediate computer skills.

  • Sensitivity to different political/cultural/ethnic backgrounds and a respect of First Nations peoples, multiculturalism, gender and sexual diversity.

  • A willingness to adhere to all WHS policies and procedures and work within the Society’s Code of Conduct.

  • A respect of and willingness to work within the ethos of St Vincent de Paul Society
