Museum of Understanding Through Tolerance and Inclusion (MUTTI) is seeking a Grant Writer to identify and prepare successful grant applications to support MUTTI’s vision and mission.

MUTTI is a collaborative humanitarian arts organisation whose mission is to provide a creative platform to empower those with lived experience of marginalisation and discrimination to advocate for social change that benefits the human rights, health and well-being of our society.

MUTTI is led by the resilient voices of those with lived experience who have resisted conforming to social norms which cause marginalisation. MUTTI’s participants use the unique transformative power of art to raise public awareness through curiosity, engagement and discussion about the intersectionality of the many discriminations faced by people based on age, disability, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality and socioeconomic status, and the impact these have on human rights, health and well-being.

As a volunteer with MUTTI you will gain unique experience across both the arts/culture and social advocacy sectors helping deliver MUTTI”s innovative vision for individual and community

Duties may include:

  • Work as part of the MUTTI team to realise our vision and mission for social inclusion and empowerment
  • Identify suitable grant opportunities to achieve MUTTI’s strategic program and to fund specific projects and activities
  • Collaborate with MUTTI team and stakeholders to source and collate required content and data
  • Write compelling successful grant application content
  • Collaborate in the preparation of grant application budgets
  • Edit, proof-read, submit and track grant applications
  • Maintain the MUTTI grant program database

Required skills

  • Ability to align with MUTTI’s Vision, Mission and Values
  • Able to be self-motivated and directed but also able to work as part of a team as required
  • Proven experience in successful grant writing
  • Good organisational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and the use of online grant applications
  • Able to work from home
  • Must have sufficient internet for online collaboration and communication
  • Minimum requirement is 3 hours per week
