About the organisation Organisation name : Friends for Good

Friends for Good is an Australian loneliness pioneer. We were the first organisation to work solely on the issue of loneliness. We provide direct services. FriendLine is helping people out of loneliness. It is a free, anonymous phone call or on-line chat and operates through the generous support of volunteers who answer calls 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We also undertake research and hold community education activities. We partner with a broad range of individuals and groups and chair the Friendship Alliance, a national group working together on the issues of social isolation and loneliness.

About the role The Guest Speaker Volunteer is required to be one of the faces of the organisation, to assist in education and promotion about loneliness, research findings and Friends for Good services. This is a great opportunity to use your skills to help educate and inspire people to end the stigma and suffering of those experiencing loneliness!

Key duties: Guest speaking at events and meetings for clubs, community groups or businesses. Seek opportunities to promote and speak publicly about loneliness and Friends for Good. Meet with Friends for Good staff to plan content for speaking engagements. Liaise with external groups to organise speaking opportunities.

Skills required: Very confident public speaker Clear communication skills Understanding of and interest in the issue of loneliness Good team player
