Greater Sydney Landcare Treasurer Position Description
Greater Sydney Landcare (GSL) is a not-for-profit regional landcare group which is the umbrella organisation for district and individual Landcare groups and networks across the greater Sydney basin. GSL is currently obtaining ACNC charity status. Last year income was $1.4M, mainly from government grants.
**Treasurer responsibilities and duties** The Treasurer reports to the Chair, Greater Sydney Landcare and is member of the Executive Committee and the Board (a volunteer committee). Duties include:
• Financial oversight and protection of funds • Financial planning, budgeting, record keeping and reporting • Design and maintenance of the financial system, policies and procedures • Advice on all financial and business matters • Management of the external bookkeeping and accounting relationship.
Treasurer qualifications and skills • Qualifications and experience in accounting and/or finance. • Proficiency in financial and other software systems. • An interest in supporting environmental improvement is desirable.
Remuneration This is a volunteer position working with a volunteer committee -expenses can be paid with prior approval.
