Background

This is a newly created role to assist in diversifying our volunteer talent while also setting up systems to run more effectively, and a clear evaluation process. We are agile in nature, open to ways of always improving but also require solid structure to drive change forward.We currently use a variety of platforms to assist with fundraising including Chuffed.org, Give Now, Mailchimp, and Humanitix. Our chosen collaboration platform is google workspace which includes gmail, google docs, forms and more plus google meet. We use Slack and Kahoots as our chosen communication platforms.The incumbent should have an advanced understanding of these.

This is an exciting role for the seasoned Fundraising/Sales professional who will enjoy the rewards of mentoring young and diverse students and early career volunteers. You will make a real difference in the lives of those in the developing world, and develop a new appreciation for all the moving parts of an international development charity.

Position Description

The Head of Fundraising will work in collaboration with the CEO, Chief of Staff, Project Manager, and Head of Marketing. This role will manage the current grants team and establish newly created roles Fundraising, Partnerships, and Sponsorships Teams. Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective strategies to achieve income targets across the range of revenue streams
  • In cooperation with the executive director, lead the development of any long-term strategy to achieve agreed long term organisational goals
  • Produce cost-effective budgets to achieve action plans
  • Develop and maintain income and expenditure tracking and evaluation systems
  • Manage an effective fundraising team that delivers fundraising income meeting set targets
  • Oversee the management of grant program
  • Support the partnership team to ensure the production of effective, high quality proposals and reports
  • Initiate and lead an individual giving plan for 2023-24 which includes recruitment and development of new donors
  • Lead on development of new funding streams
  • Develop and maintain effective supporter journeys for the development of relationships and retention
  • Advising leadership team on the availability of funds and the viability of obtaining funds to support campaign initiatives
  • Attending leadership meetings to report and give advice on fundraising matters
  • Staff management of fundraising, partnership, sponsorship, and grant staff, including:
  • Setting and reviewing objectives and work plans (with HR support)
  • Managing workload and performance through regular one-to-one discussions

Essential skills

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Fundraising, Sales, Accounting Management or similar role
  • Excellent analytical and strategic skills
  • Demonstrable track record of Strategic Fundraising
  • Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, partner, and donor relationships
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategic and business plans
  • Proven track record in fundraising that has directly resulted in increased income for an organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a B2B sales, marketing, or fundraising roles or equivalent

Desired skills

  • Previous experience holding a leadership marketing or equivalent role at a non-profit organization.
  • Experience working in Indonesia, Indonesian native, or Bahasa Indonesia skills
  • Experience working in water sector, international development, or textiles industry
  • An understanding and passion for the social and environmental issues
