Business Development Director Board Role
Share the SparkThe Business Development Director should: • be organised and professional, a good communicator with great writing skills • be connected to the community and businesses • be able to create, delegate and support a working group • be personable and able to present the organisation and the virtues of being a sponsor • be creative in looking at new ways to recruit and maintain sponsors
Specific duties include but are not limited to: • Convene a group of volunteers to assist with key tasks and timelines • Create Partner/Sponsorship Packages and be familiar with what the organisation promises to sponsor • Prepare a funding budget, monitor it carefully and report on it regularly • Seek to raise at least $40,000 a year in grants and or sponsorship funds to cover the organisation’s operational costs • Keep a proper record of sponsor details and details on all contacts with potential sponsors using Greenrope CRM • Maintain and nurture current sponsors regarding their commitment to Share the Spark • Seek new organisation sponsors and meet with potential partners to outline what services they would value most • Organise required sponsor signage or logo inclusion where promised • Create and maintain a Memorandum of Understanding with each organisation sponsor • Ensure sponsors are invited to events and special functions • Make sure sponsor representatives are met when attending functions or events • Give a progress and financial report at regular meetings and when required • Ensure social events support our sponsors and raise money for the organisation • Ensure that sponsors get recognition • Send out a thank you letter at the completion of the season and a sponsor survey to support planning for the following year • Search out and be aware of potential grant opportunities and keep an updated database of grants and their status • Apply for grants where we are eligible
