Alex Makes Meals (AMM) is a not-for-profit company which started during COVID-19 to provide meals for frontline workers. We have pivoted to now make meals for the many people facing food insecurity in our community. It is an exciting time for us as we now move to focus not only where our meals go, but how they are made.
Alex Makes Meals is looking for a volunteer Human Resources Team Leader to partner with our CEO and the leadership team during this exciting period of growth. You will be working on Alex Makes Meals' expansion to employ vulnerable people who have otherwise been unable to find meaningful work.
You will have experience in a broad range of HR roles and be prepared to lead a small, experienced HR team. The role is responsible for ensuring we find, hire and keep the right people, as well as implement and improve robust people practices, tools and initiatives to support a sustainable business for now and the future.
Your experience and skills
3+ years generalist HR or industrial relations experience, preferably with team management;
Commercially astute, ideally experienced in NFP and understanding of a volunteer workforce;
Ability to anticipate issues and create solutions;
Exceptional communicator with a team mindset;
Professional with high integrity.
Experience with the application of Modern Awards and understanding of minimum individual contract terms.
This role is well suited to someone who would like to get exposure to HR leadership and a wide range of HR activities in a dynamic not-for-profit environment. We are seeking a minimum commitment of 4 months, but hope you enjoy the journey with us and continue in the role.
