Alzheimer's WA is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to assist our Mary Chester House team. Reporting to the house manager, you’ll be providing social support and interaction to our clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist with group outings and activities (music, crafts, cooking, games, puzzles) and support our members in keeping our garden neat and tidy.

We’re looking for people with excellent communication skills, a friendly and positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be involved in creating newsletters for our families, photographing special moments, and helping with meal preparation and kitchen support. All of our volunteers must have a genuine interest in improving the lives of people living with dementia.

We're looking for support between 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in the aged care sector, make a difference in people's lives, and develop new skills while enhancing your existing ones. You will have the chance to meet new people and build new relationships while being a part of a supportive and friendly team. We welcome candidates who are willing to learn and participate in training and development and who have a basic understanding of work health and safety in the workplace.

Alzheimer’s WA will provide you with training and support from our experienced staff and you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of people living with dementia.
