Community Information and Support VictoriaEvidence shows that vulnerable consumers are disproportionately affected by the rise in energy prices. To tackle this, we have developed a new training and information program to support consumers to take control of their energy bills.
We are looking for dedicated and reliable people to volunteer as Energy Mentors and participate in a pilot program to assist Victorians in need.
Through the program you will learn about:
• what makes a good energy deal and where to find it
• how much energy household appliances use and what you can do to stay comfortable while minimising running costs
• what support is available to help households manage their energy bills
Putting your knowledge and skills to use in the community, you will:
• support volunteers working in the community information and support network
• Provide specialist face-to-face support to enable those experiencing energy bill difficulties to understand and take control of their energy bills
Role requirements: • a time commitment of 1 day per week (days of the week flexible) through to 20 December 2019 • ability to attend specialist energy training in Melbourne • some local travel within the volunteer region (please see list of locations below) • prior knowledge of energy is not required
Locations:
We are looking for volunteers that will work within the following region and to be based from one of the listed suburbs or towns:
• Western region – Laverton
• Eastern region – Knox, East Burwood, Box Hill
• Northern region – Coburg, Whittlesea
• South East region – Mornington Peninsula, Dandenong
• Inner South region – St Kilda, Glen Huntly
• Regional – Bendigo
• Regional - Leongatha
