SSI Volunteer Employment Support Team (VEST)

**Commitment **- minimum 2 hours per week

**Purpose *** VEST is an SSI volunteer led project ​to provide a range of activities to support SSI clients with pathways to employment.

The purpose of VEST is to share your skills, expertise and passion to support asylum seekers and refugees to achieve employment goals​ and contribute to their settlement outcomes.

You can provide support with: ​​

• Resume writing​
• Job applications​
• Interview preparation​
• One on one support
• Mentoring
• Conducting related information sessions ​

Role requirements:

• A passion to help asylum seekers and refugees with their settlement outcomes
• A passion to learn new and share existing skills
• A commitment to SSI's Vision and Values of Respect, Accountability and Inclusion -- Basic knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word
• Excellent communication and intercultural skills
• Complete all required SSI checks - Working with Children Check & Criminal History Check
