The Neighbourhood Advisory Board (NAB) is a regular meeting that brings public housing tenants and services together. It aims to discuss and address local issues and to improve the quality of life and development of social housing. Tenant representatives attend the NAB to bring forward the concerns and needs of the community.

With a community focus in mind you will facilitate / chair all meetings with key relationships between tenants and government agencies and ensure that all items set out in the agenda are properly discussed, considered and resolved within the time allocated.

  • Be independent and unbiased
  • Allow everyone’s views to be heard and encourage contribution
  • Check agendas and minutes
  • Open and close the meeting
  • Ensure time is allocated effectively and keep to time
  • Ensure clear decisions are reached
  • Ensure the meeting runs smoothly

This role requires:

  • Experience in facilitating meetings, forums etc with an audience of up to 20 people
  • Proven experience as a collaborative leader with the ability to act in an independent and unbiased manner
  • Community minded, culturally sensitive and politically correct
  • Excellent time management
  • Attention to detail
  • General computer skills
  • Ability to actively support Mission Australia’s purpose and values
  • Ability to work in accordance with Mission Australia policies and procedures
