Community Visitor Volunteer - Crosswords or chat with Alyson - Wilson
People Who Care (Inc)
Alyson enjoys reading, doing crosswords, rock and roll music, reading and watching TV. She would enjoy someone to visit her for a chat or to play word games, once a week or fortnight.
If you are patient, have good interpersonal/listening skills, speak english fluently and the ability to communicate sensitively with elderly people, this could be the volunteer role for you.
The Community Visitors Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.
Volunteers will be required to have a current Influenza vaccination or be willing to get one, as well as up to date Covid 19 vaccination status. You may also be required to conduct a RAT test prior to each visit to the aged care facility, and wear a mask.
