This volunteer opportunity will help to enrich the life of an older person who is living at home through regular visits and social support. By connecting with an older person, your friendship can help reduce social isolation and help maintain a sense of connection to the local community.

Your availability will be matched with an older person in the community based on shared interests, hobbies, skills, and cultural identity.

Social Support Connectors do not need to have any previous experience in aged care. If you are patient, reliable and have a genuine interest in making a positive difference to the life of an older person, this is a great opportunity for you.

Location: Approved visits with the older person may happen in their home or in the community at local venues such as local shopping centres, coffee shops, local parks etc.

Tasks involved may include: ▪️ Conversation, ▪️ Playing board or card games ▪️ Memory support games, ▪️ Arts and crafts, ▪️ Watching TV or a movie ▪️ Volunteers will not be doing any nursing, personal care, cleaning or housework.
