Eric and John are two friendly gentleman living in residential aged care, both enjoy the company of others and would love having a male visitor to spend time having a friendly chat. Eric enjoys sports, especially English cricket, he loves gardening, crosswords, and reminiscing about his travels around Europe.

John enjoys reading, listening to classical music, and having in-depth conversations about current affairs.

If you have good Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with elderly people then this could be the volunteer role for you.

The Community Visitors Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.
