Female Sight Guide Volunteers for Overnight trips

Blind Welfare Association Of SA - Beyond Blindness
Logo for Blind Welfare Association Of SA - Beyond Blindness

Beyond Blindness is seeking female volunteers to assist & guide our female members who are blind to sight while they are out and about

As a Social Outings volunteer, you will have the opportunity to improve the quality of life of our members who might be socially isolated or just looking for another adventure to fill the diary for the week.

What is needed most is initiative – To see something needs to be done and do it or notice someone needs a hand and give assistance.

Trips can be three-night or four-night stays. We travel in the Beyond Blindness buses and usually stay in cabins at caravan parks. A volunteer is allocated to cabins to help the members. Volunteers do not have to help with any personal care or medications.

The outings are relaxed and social in nature, where you might chat together, reminiscing about old-time and swapping stories. Outings include activities such as park and garden strolls, visits to museums, galleries, local pubs and shopping centres.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
