The Youth Social Support Volunteer Mentoring program aims to improve the quality of life of young people living on the Central Coast that are at risk of disengaging in education, training, or their communities. Sometimes young people can feel isolated/alone and having a clear, consistent, empathic, and compassionate role model / mentor can have a positive impact for a young person in achieving their goals and their overall well-being.

As a Youth Social Support Volunteer you will:-

  • Meet with a young person regularly for the purposes of mentoring and support (full training and support provided)
  • Share skills, interests, and hobbies and assist the young person with goal orientated tasks
  • Enhance and develop new skills
  • Have a positive impact and make a difference

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aged over 21 years old
  • Reliable, compassionate, and non-judgemental
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive role model
  • Interest in / understanding of the needs of young people
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Experience in working with young people and/or currently undertaking study/education in a related field
