Swimming 4 a Cure
This swim is your mission... Your pace. Your way. Your time. Wherever you live, no matter your fitness level you can swim your way to become a hero helping to fight cancer. You can take on your mission individually. Or, with your friends, family, and colleagues by creating a mission crew.
All funds raised go towards Cure Cancer. Cure Cancer funds early-career cancer researchers. We invest in the brightest innovators in cancer research, supporting researchers at the start of their careers, when few other funding bodies will take the chance.
The Challenge: Participants decide what distance they would like to swim during the period of the challenge, i.e. 10km, 20km. May be swum in a pool or open water.
Dates: Each year between January to March
About the Role
- Flexible volunteer hours to fit around your schedule.
- Hours will vary depending on month of the campaign (approx 5 hours per week, however very flexible).
- Role would suit someone with a passion for social media and a vision to bring the accounts to life
Key Responsibilities
- Keeping social media channels updated and brand-focused, and seeking out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with audiences (assets can be provided).
- Develop and manage content, including interactive stories across Instagram and Facebook.
- Interacting with followers, answering questions, and being the first point of contact.
- Creating a community for participants.
- Work closely with Swimming 4 a Cure event organiser and Cure Cancer staff to promote the campaign.
- Track the effectiveness of social posts and recommend ways forward
- Ensure that communication reaches a wide range of local stakeholders and diverse audience
Skills & Experience
- An understanding or willingness to learn different types of marketing and communications media, including electronic and social media
- The ability to work well individually.
