Volunteer - Skills Facilitator
As a member of the Activist Skills Collective, you’ll be part of a national team that helps design and facilitate skills development opportunities including an on-boarding / induction program for new activist leaders. You’ll also have the opportunity to further develop relationships with existing activist leaders and design and develop training sessions specifically tailored to their needs.
The work of the Activist Skill Collective contributes to Amnesty’s broader goals of building a grassroots movement that is meaningfully empowered through training and skill development to take action on human rights. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for activism, movement building and skills development.
As a member of the Activist Skills Collective you will:

Work with your fellow Activist Skills Collective volunteers and Amnesty staff to develop and deliver an activist leader on-boarding program

Work collaboratively with activists and activist leaders to run training sessions for Amnesty activists, other organisations and community groups

Cultivate an empowering and supportive space for learning and work collaboratively to create a best practice standard for all training and learning opportunities and events

Help develop new training materials that align with existing Amnesty International training materials

Facilitate the evaluation of training sessions and training materials so we can develop a robust and well reviewed training program

Acknowledge and celebrate successes, champion activist activities, and encourage leadership among fellow activists and volunteers
The perfect person for this role is someone who is a great team player, who has experience working respectfully with diverse groups of people, who has had some experience in designing and delivering training, is a great facilitator and most importantly is passionate about grassroots activism and social justice.
We strive to provide a welcoming, engaging and meaningful experience for all of our volunteers. In this role you’ll work closely with your fellow Activist Skills Collective Team, the Movement Team and with some of our awesome activists. You’ll pick up some valuable skills and experiences in community organising and skill development, insights about working in an international human rights organisation to empower and support activists and will be supported and mentored by Amnesty staff and fellow volunteers.
