FareShare’s mission is simple. We rescue food that would otherwise go to waste and cook it into free, nutritious meals for people in hardship. Our vision is for a society where food is not wasted and no one goes hungry.

FareShare operates Australia’s largest charity kitchen turning 10 tons of rescued food into ~20,000 meals a week.

Our meals are given away for free to individuals and families to help make a real and tangible difference to food insecurity in Queensland.

Warehouse volunteers help to keep our operations moving at FareShare, it's perfect for someone looking to get stuck into a task. Our kitchen crews prepare the meals and you will help get them ready for distribution across Queensland.

Tasks include loading pallets, boxing our meals into cartons, assisting with stock rotation, and loading vehicles ready for dispatch.

Warehouse volunteers need to be fit enough to lift weights of up to 12kg.

Our packing shifts are 10-12am Monday to Wednesday and 6:30-8:30am Wednesday to Friday. (But let us know if another time suits you better). Our rosters are weekly or fortnightly with the flexibility to fit around your work, holidays, and life.
