About the program

Wellways Brainwaves is an award-winning community radio show created with the aim to raise awareness, challenge stigma and provide advocacy surrounding mental health issues. The program covers a wide range of topics relating to mental health and is produced and presented by people with a lived experience of mental health issues themselves.

In partnership with 3CR Community Radio, Brainwaves airs weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00pm to 5:30pm.

About the role:

As a member of the Brainwaves creative team, you will be part of processes that bring flare to the program. In this role, you may find yourself facilitating the creation of content, editing podcasting or archiving shows. More specifically, your duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Remaining up-to-date with current events for show content
  • Sourcing guests for future shows
  • Generating questions for guests
  • Editing pre-recorded shows
  • Uploading and archiving shows/podcasts as required
  • Liaising with Volunteer Coordinator as required
  • Listening to shows (live or via podcast)
  • Attending production team meetings
  • Providing support to other team members

What do you need?

  • Peer experience –as a person with a lived experience of mental illness
  • Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake some travel
  • Appropriate IT skills
  • Satisfactory Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module completion certificate
  • Evidence of COVID booster vaccination or valid medical exemption
