Coach Coordinator

Aberfeldie Netball Club

Aberfeldie Netball Club currently holds an exciting opportunity for a Coach Coordinator to join our organisation in 2023.

We play in the Winter and Spring seasons of the Essendon District Netball Association (EDNA) competition, and pride ourselves on being a family club that provides a friendly place for everyone to play netball.

As Coach Coordinator, you will provide support to our teams registered across the Winter/Spring season. We have teams in the NetSetGo for 8–10-year old’s, through to 17U & Open. Hours of attendance will be dictated by our fixture; however we anticipate a requirement of approx. 5 hours per week – primarily being spread across Thursday evenings for training, and Saturday for game day.

Primarily, the main focus as Coach Coordinator requires you to be responsible for the development, training and management of coaches to ensure understanding and knowledge of the game of netball, as well the skills necessary to coach effectively and safely.

Specific duties will include:

  • Encourage beginner coaches including players and parents to undertake formal coach education and or become accredited coaches
  • Conduct regular meetings with the coaches and report to the committee the outcome of the meetings
  • Improve and develop the skills of all coaches & players, ensure players skills are progressing at the appropriate level for the age group
  • Provide information to coaches regarding courses and seminars and provide coaching advice and support where possible
  • Support and assist coaches with their training and game day plans
  • Liaise with the President & Child safety officer in the event of any parent/player grievances
  • Liaise with the Secretary to maintain records of coaching service and accreditation
  • Assist with Team Selection

To thrive in this very active and social role, applicants will be able to communicate effectively and have good interpersonal skills. An ability to relate to a diverse group of individuals, as well as maintain confidentiality on all matters is also of the upmost importance.

If you possess a good working knowledge of netball and its Constitution, By-laws, Rules and Policies, together with an enthusiastic and positive approach then we want to hear from you.

Working with Children Check, Coach accreditation Course, or Familiarity with current 11 Child Safety Standards would be highly advantageous.
