Overview
The main purpose of the Wellbeing Officer is to promote and maintain the mental and physical health of volunteers within the organisation. They are responsible for creating and implementing programs and initiatives that promote a positive and healthy workplace culture. They also work with senior leaders to identify and address any workplace issues that may be affecting volunteer wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing wellbeing programs (60%)
- One of the primary responsibilities of a wellbeing officer is to design and execute wellbeing programs that promote healthy habits and lifestyles among employees.
- Develop and implement initiatives, events and activities that promote mental health, resilience, and overall well-being among OFA volunteers.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters resilience, personal growth, and positive mental health outcomes.
Volunteer education and awareness (30%)
- The wellbeing officer should work to increase awareness among volunteers about the importance of wellbeing and how it can affect their work performance and overall quality of life.
- This can include providing training and educational materials on various wellness topics such as stress management, physical fitness, and nutrition.
- Respond to queries and concerns from members regarding their mental health and wellbeing, including offering referrals where appropriate.
General volunteer expectations (10%)
- Undertake an OFA volunteer induction and role onboarding.
- Understand and implement OFA’s strategy, vision and mission.
- Uphold our volunteer code of conduct.
- Assist with initiatives as required.
