Male volunteer for friendly visits to elderly man in Doncaster (VIC)
Share your stories and companionship with visits to this elderly man living at home in Doncaster.
Visits may be spent talking (this man would like to improve his English speaking skills) or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of this resident - reducing social isolation and improving well-being.
We ask volunteers to commit to minimum fortnightly visits for at least 6 months, however this is an ongoing role & we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.
Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.
This program is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme, an Australian Government Initiative.
