Volunteer Coordinator

Key duties:
- Respond to incoming in-field volunteering offers
- Assess applicant’s abilities in relation to the needs of the organisation (in consultation with Administration Manager)
- Interview applicants (usually by phone) and provide them with information about the role
- Process new volunteer registrations and update all information
- Forward new enquiries for the volunteer online chat-group to the group Administrator
- Issue email updates to volunteers as required
- Conduct on-line training sessions for new in-field volunteers
- Conduct hands-on training sessions for new in-field volunteers
- Present informational and educational talks to small to medium community groups
Skills and experience:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work effectively
- Sound Microsoft Office skills
- Desirable : experience with wildlife
- Desirable : experience working with volunteers
- Desirable : experience presenting training sessions
- Desirable : experience with presentations to small to medium groups
Training
- Willingness to participate in training to understand the role of an in-field volunteer
This is a long-term role for a reliable person that has time, energy and drive to give to the position.
Applicants from the Greater Melbourne area are preferred to enable the provision of hands-on training in treating wombats.
