Darebin Information, Volunteer & Resource Service (DIVRS) is a volunteer powered community organisation that provides free services, programs and information for people who live, study and volunteer in Darebin. Our mission is to connect people to opportunity, community and support.
We have a focus on working with people who experience systemic or economic disadvantage and exclusion. We reduce financial stress and social isolation. We increase access to community information and build capability. We promote health and well-being, inclusion and sustainability.
The Food Services team supports our Emergency Relief and Community Support Program by sourcing, packing, and sharing food with the Darebin community. The food relief driver is involved in leading the weekly food parcel deliveries to residential properties throughout Darebin.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Driving the DIVRS van and delivering up to 20 food parcel packs per week to residential properties within the City of Darebin.
• Assisting other delivery drivers with directions to the residential property, supported by a GPS app.
• Assisting with the loading, unpacking, and organising of all parcel deliveries
• Follow all procedures in an event of incident during delivery.
Skills and Qualities needed:
• Valid drivers’ licence and be able to drive a van and have a good driving record
• Have general good health and be able to complete jobs which requires lifting up to 20kg.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
