Alex Makes Meals Limited (AMM) has arisen out of the need to support food security in our community. It began in 2020 by focusing on providing nutritious meals to our dedicated health care professionals who were working long hours, whilst they worked in our COVID wards.

We have now pivoted to feed community members in crisis, including those adversely impacted by the pandemic; that is causing unprecedented economic hardship. We work with 30 local charity partners in Melbourne who distribute the meals to all those who are in need.

We currently have over 100 volunteers who give their time each week to help us achieve this.

We are looking to recruit up to 3 Non Executive Directors to expand the current Board membership. Applicants with the following skill sets are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Finance
• Legal
• Risk
• Fundraising
• Governance

Your role would involve:

• Attending monthly Board meetings using virtual meeting platforms, held in the evening (currently on third Wednesday of the month)
• Being well informed about organisational matters and well prepared for meetings, including having adequately reviewed the monthly Board pack
• Actively participate and contribute to planning efforts, including proactively supporting Alex Makes Meals with our initiatives;
• Working with the CEO, other Board members and volunteer Senior Leadership Team members for your relevant area of expertise; and,
• Representing Alex Makes Meals, building relationships and sourcing opportunities aligned with our cause.

All new Board members are required to provide a Current National Police check or be willing to undertake one.
