Refugee Women's Advocacy and Policy Officer
Centre of Advancing WomenKey duties:
- Learning the organisations key duties and goals, and creating policy proposals from this
- helping write advocacy letters for our clients
- helping produce research proposals in collaboration with policy writers
- providing input/creating create articles/content for our website and social media
- following our organisation's policies and procedures
Desired skills and experience:
- background in social sciences, community services, law, psychology or related field
- experience with writing policies and grant proposals
- experience working with refugee or migrant communities
- emotional intelligence
- understanding of social systems
- understanding of systemic racism and patriarchy, and the perceptions and stigma of black and Islamic communities
- Willing to learn and work with women from diverse refugee backgrounds, especially from an East African background
