ABOUT BIG DREAMERS PROGRAM

Big Dreamers supports Young Carers aged 14 - 18 by creating a space where they build new skills, foster social connection and focus on understanding who they are outside of their caring role. Over six months, regular workshops are used to explore health and wellbeing, self-esteem and self-worth, values and goal setting, understanding their caring roles, career aspirations, and leadership. These workshops provide an opportunity to connect and a platform to engage, learn and challenge thinking.

  • Communicate with your local Big Dreamers Coordinator for any questions and concerns.
  • Facilitate & participate in weekend workshops & attend the retreat during school holidays.

RETREATS

The retreat is a chance for all our Big Dreamer Communities to come together to get to know each other and have a well-earned break from their caring role. We want the young carers to feel like they can just be themselves and enjoy a well-earned break from their usual responsibilities. Our retreats include a mix of camp-based activities (Giant Swing, Canoeing, Tree-Top Surfing etc.), workshops, and other fun activities such as a movie night, dance parties, karaoke and more. Our 2023 retreat will run for 4 days, 3 nights during April school holidays.
