Get 2 Know is seeking a hands on DevOps engineer (volunteer role) who will lead the way for our DevOps environment. The ideal engineer will bring their experience, best practices and collaborative attitude to help drive DevOps initiatives.

*Roles and Responsibilities**

• Set up and manage infrastructure, including servers and networking.

• Configure and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

• Manage the creation and maintenance of development, staging, and production environments.

• Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless deployment processes.

• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices for consistent and repeatable setups.

• Set up Odoo locally on their machines for development.

• Write, test, and debug code in the development environment.

• Follow version control best practices using Git.

• Create branches, commit changes, and push to the repository.

• Participate in code reviews and pull requests.

• Create and maintain documentation for the development workflow.

• Document development environment setup procedures.

• Provide clear instructions for deployment processes and best practices.

• Ensure documentation is regularly updated and accessible to the team.

• Plan and coordinate the release process, including deployment to production.

• Define and document rollback procedures in case of issues during deployment.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to schedule releases.

• Communicate release schedules and updates to stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Tertiary level qualification in computer science or engineering or relevant certifications.
• Expertise in AWS services, tools and best practices.
• 2-3 years’ experience of working on the AWS platform.
• A well rounded understanding of the management information systems i.e. ERP and CRM.
• Android app knowledge and experience.
• Expertise in cloud computing.
• Experience and expertise with scripting languages e.g. Python, Java script etc.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
