1. Who is Women of Colour Australia (WoCA)

Women of Colour Australia (WoCA) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity established in August 2020. We are run by women of colour for women of colour. We exist to champion Australia’s women of colour through programs of education, community support initiatives, and advocacy work.

Our Vision: A world where girls and women of colour are afforded equitable opportunities to reach their full potential.

Our Purpose: To advocate, support, and strengthen the lives and experiences of Women of Colour in all places and spaces in Australia.

2. Duties

Reporting to the Lead, Graphic Design Team, the Graphic Designer works with a team of 2 other Graphic Designers to:

• Effectively follow internal briefs across a range of digital assets and proposing design concepts that meet the requirements
• Design clear, engaging graphic communications for the web and print. This may include logos, branded promotional items, website, social media graphics, posters, flyers and other marketing materials as needed
• Create branding assets, including illustrations, icons and marketing materials
• Assist with management of image library and design assets
• Taking feedback and amending designs as required

3. Attributes

The ideal candidate must have:

• Portfolio of strong designs, graphics and illustrations
• Strong experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Canva
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, a great communicator with time management and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to define and work on deadlines
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy
