Abundant Water is a Canberra-based not for profit delivering health and hygiene benefits by using the power of social business to design and develop sustainable and scalable clean drinking water projects. We empower individuals and communities to secure their own sustainable access to safe water. Working in remote rural areas in Laos, Timor-Leste and the Philippines we train local potters and vendors to launch scalable micro-businesses as part of our social business model, ensuring their communities have a supply of clean water into the future.

About the Role

The Volunteering Coordinator will work within Abundant Water’s Volunteering Team in Canberra. You’ll work to support the Director of Volunteering to coordinate recruitment and volunteer management for Abundant Water. The team has a supportive culture and is a flexible volunteer environment where you can use and develop your skills across a variety of areas. Some of the key tasks you’ll be doing include: ● Coordinating recruitment for Australian volunteers and overseas interns when vacancies become available ● Monitoring the recruitment inbox and responding to enquiries in a timely manner ● Updating and maintaining volunteering documentation, such as induction packs ● Conducting regular 'check ins' with our volunteer team.

This role is based in Canberra, with work being carried out remotely. The time commitment is approximately 2-3 hours per week, or 1-2 days per month - but more time may be required occasionally. The Volunteering Coordinator will be provided with training and support to learn the skills and processes required for this role.

About You

The successful candidate will have all or most of the following: ● Understand and commit to the values of Abundant Water ● Work effectively as part of a team ● Have strong organisational skills ● Have excellent written and verbal communication skills ● Demonstrate initiative ● Have experience in general administration duties (not required but desirable)
