Telephone Crisis Support Worker - Lifeline

Key responsibilities of a volunteer Crisis Supporter are:
- To assist callers to 13 11 14 to find immediate relief from emotional distress
- To explore coping strategies related to the current crisis with the caller
- To safely manage any immediate threat to life or safety to the caller
- To open pathways for the caller to long term solutions to underlying issues
- To assist the caller to take preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of further distress
- To focus the caller on specific steps that they can take to follow up after their contact to Lifeline.
