Vinnies Return and Earn Recycling Centre
The Return and Earn scheme is the way forward in recycling in NSW. As well as being the ultimate recyclers of clothing, bric-a-brac and furniture, we also recycle bottles and cans. This role is vital to generate revenue for our broad range of services supporting the community.
As a Volunteer General Hand, you will play a central role in the operations of the recycling centre, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
The Volunteer Role
The Volunteer General Hand will perform a variety of tasks including:
- Meet and greet new customers and guide them through the return & earn process;
- Provide customers with excellent experience;
- Receive and process donated bottles and cans;
- Perform general warehousing tasks; and
- Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices.
The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:
- Be a people person – welcoming, encouraging and positive;
- Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society;
- Be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team;
- Be able to take direction and contribute positively to the overall running of the Return & Earn Centre.
Previous warehousing experience would be highly regarded as well as a current, valid forklift license.
In-house coaching and training is provided.
