The Village Chef by Meals on Wheels has been operating since 1961 and has branches in Turramurra, Hornsby and Mona Vale. Our mission is to prepare and deliver quality meals with kindness, care and support. We are seeking drivers to do runs at our Hornsby site. Runs typically take 1 - 1.5 hours (and are often done in pairs). Volunteers are offered lunch and snacks when they return from runs and are reimbursed for fuel. Suitable volunteers require:

• Good/safe driving skills
• Empathy and an ability to communicate effectively
• Clearance of a police check and must be fully vaccinated (including a booster) Approximately 30% of the clients we support will not speak with anyone else that day, and for some, that week. Our volunteers provide social connection and engagement which has been shown to improve wellbeing (for both clients and volunteers alike).
