The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Puffing Billy Railway.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

• A knowledge or willingness to learn safe gardening OH&S practices
• A knowledge or willingness to learn how to safely operate gardening machinery and equipment
• Possess a basic mechanical ability
• Ability to work within a team and contribute to team commitment and cooperation
• Ability to partake in additional learning to acquire new skills as required
• Prepared to initiate conversations
• Friendliness

Key Duties:

• Act as a representative of Puffing Billy Railway
• Assist with general garden maintenance
• Removal and prevention of natural hazards
• Assist with the safe & efficient beautification of the Railway
• Work with the Gardening Team
• Assist Visitors as required / participate in photo opportunities

Requirements:

• Willingness to work in all-weather environments
• Ability to be on your feet for most of the day
• Standing on constantly uneven surfaces for long periods
• Constant exposure to outdoor duties
• Ability to lift heavy loads
